Environmental Education Presentations

Guest speakers for your school or organization

Professional staff members are available from IDEM to serve as guest speakers for your school or organization. Lessons on air, land, and water pollution, recycling, and children's environmental health are available. Hard copies of each lesson plan will be presented to you complete with engaging hands-on activities, clearly defined objectives and necessary materials, any necessary preparation instructions, an actual "script" of the material that will be covered, a glossary of terms used in the script, and of course, a listing if the Indiana Academic Standards covered during the lesson.

Don't delay! Request a guest speaker for your school or organization today by contacting Jennifer Woolson-Helrigel 317/233-5433 or jwoolson at idem.IN.gov. When responding, please be prepared to answer the following questions:

  1. The contact name of the person at your school/organization to which IDEM staff should respond
  2. School/Organization Name
  3. School/Organization Address
  4. Three (3) dates that fit your schedule for the presentation
  5. Number of presentations you would like (maximum of four for different classes, grade levels, etc.)
  6. Grade level (if applicable) for each respective presentation
  7. Number of students to attend each presentation (maximum of 40 unless arranged with IDEM; ask us about special presentations for larger audiences!)
  8. Lesson Topic requested for each presentation (air, land, or water pollution, recycling, or children's environmental health).
