The length of permit coverage under the Construction Stormwater General Permit is five (5) years. Permittees must either apply for renewal of permit coverage or terminate coverage provided the projects is eligible.
IDEM has established the Notice of Intent (NOI) receipt date as the actual start of permit coverage, provided the NOI is complete. Permit coverage is required to be renewed ninety (90) days prior to the expiration of the permit (see Permit Renewal).
If the actual start of construction/land-disturbing activity precedes submittal of the Notice of Intent, a violation of the CSGP, the start of the permit cycle will be determined as the actual start date of land-disturbing activity.
