The Department of Defense/State of Indiana Pollution Prevention Partnership is a voluntary partnership between the State of Indiana, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5, and Department of Defense installations in Indiana. The partnership focuses on strategies to reduce the sources of pollution and waste in day-to-day operations.
The participating Department of Defense installations and environmental agencies have signed a Charter [PDF - 240K] agreement outlining goals and to promote pollution prevention at military installations around the state. These efforts include pollution prevention information exchange and creating training and award programs to increase environmental awareness of military employees and personnel.
