As members of the CLEAN community Challenge, communities have access to free technical assistance and other IDEM resources to help achieve environmental goals.
Please contact the CLEAN program manager (800) 988-7901 or via email at "CLEAN at idem.IN.gov" to request specific assistance or to suggest topics for CLEAN resource development.
CLEAN members are required to submit annual performance reports to IDEM demonstrating progress made on each of their five environmental initiatives and certifying that CLEAN Community Challenge requirements continue to be achieved.
Beginning in 2014, members of the CLEAN Community Challenge will report progress on their environmental goals on a calendar year basis. This is a change from the previous method of reporting based on each member’s CLEAN designation date. The format for reporting has also changed. Each community will submit a Community Progress Spreadsheet along with the CLEAN Annual Performance Report (APR) form (State Form 53116). The Community Progress Spreadsheet and APR will now be due every year on the first Monday in March.
CLEAN members are designated for a three-year term. For communities who wish to renew membership, the CLEAN program manager will schedule a renewal site visit and assist the community with updating their Quality of Life Plan, choosing five new environmental goals, and completing the renewal application. Each renewing community must also submit the final annual performance report from the first CLEAN term and document overall progress on each of the five environmental objectives.
