What information is available?

The guide is written in plain English. It is laid out for use by those who may not be familiar with IDEM's organizational structure, and includes links to other relevant information, such as statutes and rules, guidance documents, EPA and IDEM pamphlets and brochures, and permit applications. The guide even includes an agency wide contact list for staff involved in permitting issues, including phone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Almost all pages in the permit guide have the same easy to use format.  The pages share the same general theme and the navigation bar on the left. The main category (i.e. Air, Water, Land Development) of the page is indicated at the top, and under this categoric title are links allowing navigation back to the home page of the Permit Guide or of the category being viewed. The page title appears below these navigational links. Links allowing for navigation among the topics addressed by the page being view are in the blue "Page Contents" box.

Most pages have the following headings:

• Who may need a permit or approval?
• Some of the things an applicant must do to comply with the permit or regulatory program
• What to expect - some of the things an applicant can expect such as permit fee information, how to transfer the permit if the facility changes hands, or the time frame IDEM has to issue the permit or approval
• Additional information - provides links to more information on other Web sites and contact information

Pages may also contain other useful information as appropriate, including contact information for environmental regulatory requirements not administered by IDEM.
