What does nonpoint source water pollution look like? It's pollution created from water running off of construction sites, parking lots, roads, sidewalks, and even our yards, and it only takes a little bit to pollute our waterways.
Let's say a small amount of nonpoint source pollution looks like... well, a rubber ducky. Imagine this ducky floating down a storm drain into a lake or stream. It joins another ducky... then a hundred... then a million, all of them flowing untreated into our lakes and streams. Do you see the problem here?
But nonpoint source water pollution is not rubber duckies. It's dirt, trash, oil, pet waste, run-off from parking lots and driveways, and even excess fertilizer from our lawns, and it's a real problem for Indiana.
We have the power to stop it. Help stop the rubber duckies. Find out how at idem.in.gov/watersheds. Remember, it's Your Watershed. Your Home. Your Future. (((quack)))
