2010 Environmental Stewardship Award

The U.S. EPA Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) is taking nominations for the 2010 Small Business Environmental Stewardship Award. This National award will recognize exemplary performance in pollution prevention leadership, industrial environmental leadership, and community environmental leadership.

Who is Eligible

In order to meet the eligibility qualifications a Small Business must:

  • be an independently owned company with less than 100 full-time employees;
  • have worked with IDEM’s Compliance and Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) (e.g., received some type of permitting, recordkeeping, compliance/regulations, or pollution prevention assistance; and,
  • be located either in the U.S. or territories.

How to Nominate a Small Business

Those wishing to nominate a Small Business can complete the Online Nomination Application as well as a series of Nomination Questions to support the application. All application materials can be submitted electronically. If online submittal is not possible, it is acceptable to submit a hard copy of the form along with the completed answers and either mail or fax it to the SBEAP Small Business Ombusdman.

Nominations will be accepted no later than Friday, March 26, 2010, 4:00p.m. EST. Self nominations and nominations from previous winners will not be eligible. The awards will be presented to the winner(s) at the June 8-10, 2010 National SBO/SBEAP Conference in Arlington, VA. The Small Business Recognition Awards are not designed to compete with or supersede other private and public environmental achievement awards like the Indiana Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.
