New Form: IDEM Drycleaner Notification of Compliance Status form
Each owner or operator of a drycleaning facility that uses Perchloroethylene (Perc) shall submit a notification of compliance status to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management Office of Air Quality.
The Compliance & Technical Assistance Program (CTAP) is a cooperative relationship involving CTAP staff and Indiana drycleaners including the Indiana Drycleaning & Laundry Association (IDLA). CTAP has served drycleaners since July 1995 to help them achieve compliance with environmental regulations. Initially efforts were focused on providing assistance to the many drycleaners who were especially concerned about complying with the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, Perchloroethylene (Perc) Drycleaning Facilities (40 CFR 63, Subpart M). CTAP provides free confidential phone and on-site assistance for Indiana drycleaners that need help with environmental regulations.
CTAP also provides compliance workshops. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is developing a new voluntary environmental performance leadership based program designed to recognize and provide regulatory flexibility to Indiana establishments for exemplary environmental performance and stewardship which includes Indiana drycleaners. It is called the Indiana Environmental Stewardship Program.
