Fill materials associated with construction of the adjacent railway bed to the north of the property were found to contain elevated levels of SVOCs and metals, primarily copper.  No spills or other potentially impacting sources were discovered.  Overexcavation, to the property boundary north of the facility, was performed and 233.70 tons of soil was disposed of off-site.  Confirmatory sampling confirmed that SVOCs and metals were below the 1996 VRP Tier II Residential cleanup goals.  Sampling and analysis of the groundwater and synthetic precipitation leaching procedure (SPLP) were used to show that leaching to groundwater was not a significant pathway for any remaining concentrations.
