Conference Details:

Who: The Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention

What: For the past eleven years, the Indiana Partners for Pollution Prevention (Partners) have sponsored a statewide pollution prevention conference and trade show. Conference topics have ranged from new and innovative pollution prevention technologies being used in Indiana to training on how pollution prevention can save facilities money. The conference also includes a trade show of over 20 exhibitors displaying their products and services to promote pollution prevention.

Theme: Lean on P2

When: Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Time: Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Where: Primo's West, Plainfield, Indiana (directions)

Why: Linking pollution prevention to quality initiatives, or Lean practices, is the cornerstone of this year's conference. This is a great year to bring someone from your quality, maintenance, or manufacturing team! Many sessions will tie pollution prevention projects to lean practices. Other sessions include common sense manufacturing, greening your suppliers, environmental management systems and wastewater pollution prevention techniques.

Lean and the Environment

This year's keynote speaker is Laura Pyzik from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and our plenary speaker is Rich Guimond the Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety from the Carrier Corporation. Both will speak about lean and pollution prevention and how to make them work together for your company.

Governor's Awards Presentations

The Indiana Pollution Prevention Conference & Trade Show is honored to be hosting the Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence presentations this year. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), in cooperation with the Lieutenant Governor's Office of Energy and Defense Development, the Indiana Department of Administration, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, presents the recipients for the Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence each year.

The awards presented at the eleventh annual Pollution Prevention Conference and Trade Show may include:
