Hammond, IN – A day full of resources, entertainment, and food for the communities in Northwest Indiana. The Hammond Hispanic Community Committee (HHCC) is hosting their 11th Annual Latino Resource Fair on Saturday, October 4, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jean Shepherd Community Center, 3031 J.F. Mahoney Drive, Hammond IN, 219-554-0155. We have lined up to 40 social services and educational vendors that will share their information on the various resources available to the community. During this time, we also celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with entertainment from DJ Effie Hernandez; Folkloric Dance Group “Tepochcalli” from Chicago, Ballet Folklorico Yolotzin, Orquesta Quatro Fenix, The Happy Dance Group from the Union Benefica Mexicana Tiny King and Queen Pageant, and much more.

This year we have partnered with Centier Bank and School City of Hammond, along with Sponsors such as the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, Alliance for American Manufacturing, Cintas Corporation, Horizon Bank, Regional Federal Credit Union, and St. Catherine’s Hospital, to name a few, to bring you this Annual Latino Resource Fair. The American Red Cross will also be accepting blood donations from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; St. Catherine’s Hospital will do various health screenings; and the Hammond Police Department will be available to do children fingerprinting; and so much more.

HHCC, a non-for-profit organization, has brought together in one room a wide variety of social service organizations, educational institutions, and health organizations, for ten years and has had over 400 participants yearly for the last 4 years. Since 1993, our mission is to enhance the quality of life for Hispanics thus improving the quality of life for the whole community. We believe that “Resources Open Doors”, thus our Latino Resource Fair has moved our mission forward. We invite everyone to join us to get information and to celebrate and share our culture.
