The IPR Bicentennial Salute to Hoosier Jazz was a revue of jazz artists born in the Hoosier state or who called Indiana home. A special highlight was a focus on Gennett Records of Richmond with historical recordings from the 1920s and ‘30s. Hoosier jazz artists from numerous jazz genres were included, from ragtime and the swing era to Bebop and contemporary mainstream jazz. Musicians included Hoagy Carmichael, J. Russell Robinson, Wes Montgomery, Slide Hampton, JJ Johnson, Leroy Vinnegar, Freddie Hubbard and jazz renditions of hit musical tunes by Cole Porter.
