Legacy Projects > German Contributions to the Building of Indiana German Contributions to the Building of Indiana

German settlers have been a part of Indiana since before statehood. As the citizens of Indiana observe and celebrate the state’s bicentenary in 2016, it is important to remember and acknowledge the contributions made by German immigrants and their descendants to the culture, economy and landscape of Indiana. Two lectures will be presented by local Hoosier historian William L. Selm, using paleographic resources and illustrations of the buildings and monuments which are symbols of German-American culture.
