Legacy Projects > Washington Indiana Bicentennial Celebration Washington Indiana Bicentennial Celebration

The 200 plus project plans to celebrate the community’s history and honor its community with celebrations that show pride for the state of Indiana. Events were all created to include as many Washington residents as possible. There are also plans to engage the youth in many of the activities to help them make memories of Indiana’s 200th birthday.

The 200 plus project will begin with a six-part community concert series with music from six genres, spanning from April to November. The finale concert is Peter Noone and Herman’s Hermits. July 1-10 will include a community celebration with carnival rides, bands, fireworks, parade and more. There is also a Bicentennial Park planned for Main Street, improvements planned for city entrances and a cultural diversity day.
