The Indiana Young Readers Center (IYRC) in the Indiana State Library is a place where kids can learn about Indiana and our state’s talented children’s authors and illustrators. The Center’s collection includes materials for children birth through young adult and includes books by Indiana authors and illustrators. Special interactive exhibits in the room will include activities for visitors to learn about famous Indiana authors/illustrators, such as Jim Davis, Norman Bridwell, Meg Cabot, and John Green. Other exhibits will include “How to Become an Author or Illustrator,” “Genealogy for Kids,” and “Indiana Facts & Trivia.” The IYRC will have a grand opening in 2016, coinciding with Indiana’s Bicentennial celebration. It is modeled after the Young Readers Center at the Library of Congress.
