A student at Indiana Asbury College (DePauw University) during his teenage years, the work of T.C. Steele has been collected by DePauw for over a century. Yet, few of our students, faculty and community realize the influential role he played in shaping Impressionism painting in Indiana and the Midwest. This exhibition will feature a range of figurative and landscape paintings and sketches drawn from the DePauw University Permanent Art Collection and the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites in honor of the Indiana Bicentennial celebration.
