Legacy Projects > Planting 200 Trees Planting 200 Trees

The town of Avon has set a goal to plant 200 trees to celebrate the State’s Bicentennial. Resident are encouraged to help us meet this goal by pledging to plant a tree. Residents that pledge to plant a tree will be recognized as a Friend of Avon’s Urban Forest. School teachers can help meet the goal by handing out tree seedlings to students. The town will plant trees in public parks and along the roadways in 2015 and 2016. The town will offer the State Tree, the Tulip Poplar, as part of our fall and spring tree sale at a price of $20 for the first 20 residents who order the tree at each sale. The town will post updates on the status of reaching our goal of planting 200 trees.
