To encourage the highest quality of scholarship, research and writing about Indiana pioneer history, the Society of Indiana Pioneers announces the John Hampden Holliday Prize to be awarded in the year 2016 – that being the bicentennial year of the State of Indiana and the centennial year of the Society of Indiana Pioneers – to the individuals who make the most significant contribution to the field of Indiana pioneer history.

A nominated work must be substantially about Indiana history or a very closely related topic, dealing with any period of time from pre-history to and including 1851. Works may be in any printed form: book, article, pamphlet, booklet, bibliography, and compendium of essays, exhibit or sales catalogue, a single essay that is part of larger work, or an original work contained in digit format on a disk or loaded on a permanent website.

Nomination forms available at www.indianapioneers.org under the SIP CENTENNIAL/INDIANA BICENTENNIAL tab. Deadline is March 1, 2016.
