Legacy Projects > Chinese in Indiana Chinese in Indiana

In recent years, the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis has held many events to promote Chinese culture and mutual understanding between China and U.S.. In communities across the state, people are excited to learn about the Chinese culture heritage as well as the history of Chinese community in Indiana.

Indiana’s 2016 Bicentennial celebration is a great opportunity to showcase the best of living in Indiana to the people of U.S. and China.  Numerous Chinese come to Indiana for study and many Chinese also come to Indiana for work and raise their families.  Indiana becomes their second hometown.  Over the past decades, many successful Chinese in Indiana are being recognized for their great achievements. We would like to write a book about the Chinese who study/work in Indiana and their contributions to the society.  The book will have two versions, one in Chinese and one in English.

This book aims to honor the Chinese contributions in Indiana’s 200 years of history.  Hence, this book will be a vital literature as a piece of valuable cultural assets to the current and future generations globally. We hope the life-thrilled stories can inspire and encourage the youngsters in China and United States.
