Legacy Projects > Old Settlers’ Days Old Settlers’ Days

Washington County’s Old Settlers’ Days Festival for 2015 and 2016 will be held on the grounds of the John Hay Center in Salem, the third weekend in September. This tradition of honoring our pioneer era heritage has been celebrated in our community every year since 1875. This free to the public festival offers access to the Stevens Museum & the Monon Train Depot, artisan, food and vendor booths and numerous musical acts. Using demonstrators and reenactments, the Pioneer Village will return to functioning form, replicating life in Indiana from the early to mid 1800’s.
