Legacy Projects > Lake Harner Recreation Area – Bicentennial Nature Trust Lake Harner Recreation Area – Bicentennial Nature Trust

Acquisition of approximately 195 acres located just north of Lafayette to create the proposed Lake Harner Recreation Area.  The property is a former gravel mining operation that resulted in two bodies of water totaling approximately 70 acres.  A majority of the property is located in the flood plain of Wildcat Creek, with about 25 forested acres above flood plain.  The property will support a multitude of recreational uses including fishing, hiking and fitness trails, canoeing and kayaking, bird watching and picnicking.
