2012 Indiana Association of Historians Annual Meeting
Indiana Association of Historians 32nd Annual Meeting will be held February 18, 2012 at Hanover College, Hanover, Indiana.
This year’s theme is People on the Move: Exploration, Migration, Commerce, and Tourism
Annual Meeting Program
Dr. John Mack Faragher will deliver the keynote address immediately following the conference luncheon. His address is titled:
“The Ohio and the Trans-Appalachian West: Images of a Settler Society”John Mack Faragher is Arthur Unobsky Professor of American History and Director of the Howard R. Lamar Center for the Study of Frontiers and Borders at Yale University. He has written a number of books, including Women and Men of the Overland Trail (1979), Sugar Creek: Life on the Illinois Prairie (1986), Daniel Boone: The Life and Legend of an American Pioneer (1992), A Great and Noble Scheme: The Tragic Story of the Expulsion of the French Canadians from their American Homeland (2005), and Frontiers: A Short History of the American West (2007).
The History Department of Hanover College is pleased to welcome Professor Faragher to our campus to deliver the Indiana Association of Historians Annual Meeting keynote address.
The History Department and the Indiana Association of Historians thank the Rivers Institute at Hanover College for its generous support in bringing Professor Faragher to campus.
Professor Faragher’s lecture is free and open to the public. Attendance at the IAH annual meeting, including sessions and the luncheon, requires registration.
