The Repair of the Indiana Territorial Line Historical Marker
Indiana Territorial Line Historical Marker (71.1966.1 ) located at US 31 & Johnson Road, south edge of South Bend, St. Joseph County—before and after restoration.
Mr. Wayne Doolittle, Inspector for the South Bend St. Joseph County Historic Preservation Commission, contacted the Historical Bureau and stated that this 1966 historical marker was in very poor condition. We sent him information on how to re-paint the marker.
In the summer of 2004 the marker has been reinstalled and thanks to Mr. Doolittle, a Painters Union Apprentice Class, Ivy Tech Machine Shop students, and Rolly Williams Paint store, this 1966 marker has a totally new look. Thanks to all who made this possible.
