If you have been referred to the Small Business Administration (SBA) by FEMA

If you have been “denied” by FEMA, this may mean you have been referred by FEMA to apply for an SBA loan. This does not mean you have been denied for assistance, but to be eligible for FEMA assistance you must file an SBA loan application if you desire assistance from FEMA. If granted the loan, you can always choose to decline it. However, the SBA loan application is a necessity. You should have received an application in the mail, but if you not have an application you can apply with the SBA by calling 1-800-488-5223 to find the SBA office nearest you or visit any a center on the following list: SBA centers. Applications must be filed with SBA by August 11th, 2008. Please have your FEMA declaration information number (the number FEMA assigned to you) available as it is needed for the application.

If you have questions, please see the FAQ page.
