Judicial Appointments

Pursuant to Article 5, Section 18 of the Indiana Constitution and Indiana Code, the Governor of the State of Indiana has the authority to fill judicial vacancies as they occur in the state.

Current Vacancies

As a general rule, the application period for judicial openings will be 30 days after posting on this website. Notwithstanding, the Governor’s Office may extend the application period in its sole judgment or discretion.


Below are two (2) new judicial openings.

Hancock County Circuit Court
The Office of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is now accepting applications for the position of judge of the Hancock County Circuit Court. Qualified applicants should complete and submit the judicial application found below by no later than 5:00pm on October 16, 2017. Applications should be returned to the Governor’s Office via email (judicialapplications@gov.in.gov) or by hard copy (Governor’s Office, Attn: Joseph R. Heerens, State House Room 206, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204).

Huntington County Circuit Court
The Office of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is now accepting applications for the position of judge of the Huntington County Circuit Court.
