Dr. Donald Graber was appointed medical director of Richmond State Hospital on March 2nd of 2009. Dr Graber is a board certified psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience. He is committed to the provision of quality integrated psychiatric, addictions, medical care to our clients. Individual recovery and return to their respective communities is the goal of treatment. The Richmond State Hospital seeks to remain a vital link in the continuum of healthcare, and a partner in healthcare reform and innovation.

The Medical Staff at Richmond State Hospital includes Physicians (M.D. and D.O), Psychologists, Pharmacists and a Dentist as members. The physicians include psychiatrists (physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional illnesses and substance use disorders) as well as well as physicians providing general medical care.

Psychiatrists typically, after graduating from college, have four years of medical school followed by four years of residency training.
