For families that live in Marion County, there are two free preschool initiatives available: On My Way Pre-K sponsored by the State of Indiana and FSSA and the Indy Preschool Scholarship Program sponsored by the City of Indianapolis. Due to the availability of these two programs, preschool grants are available to both 3 and 4-year olds and may be available for families who less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (if funding is available).

To be eligible for a preschool grant, families that live in Marion County must:

  • earn less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (income chart attached) and
  • children must be 3 to 4-years old but not yet 5 by August 1, 2017.
  • 3-year olds must be starting kindergarten in the fall of 2019; 4-year olds must be starting kindergarten in the fall of 2018.

Families only need to fill out one application for both programs.
