The nation's first Waste-to-energy plant moving foward in Lake County
A project that will bring the nation's first commercial cellulosic ethanol plant utilizing municipal solid waste to Indiana is moving forward in Lake COunty. The 1,500 ton per day facility will produce 20 million gallons of fuel-grade ethanol plus other products each year. Read more about it here. |
OED at Purdue
As part of the statewide campaign to increase the use of Compact Flourescent Lights (CFLs), OED sponsored a Purdue University men's basketball game against Ohio State on Saturday, January 12, 2008. As part of that sponsorship, OED recieved the game ball.

First New Baseload Power Plant in 20 years Receives Regulatory Approval
The Indiana Regulatory Commission has cleared the way for Duke Energy to build an Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) plant at Edwardsport, Indiana. The Edwardsport plant will be the first baseload power plant in Indiana in 20 years. Read more about it here.

Brandon Seitz Named Deputy Chief of Staff For Lt. Governor Skillman
OED Energy Division Manager Brandon Seitz has been tapped to be Deputy Chief of Staff for Lieutanant Governor Becky Skillman. Edwardsport IGCC plant Hearing
The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission held a public hearing on Wednesday, August 29th 2007 about the proposed Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) plant proposed by Duke Energy for Edwardsport, Indiana. Read about it here.
