Major Opportunities
"Indiana is entering a building boom. It's a unique chance for young people, and especially minority youngsters, to get a good-paying job and a strong start in life. We're going to experience record opportunities, so we want everyone to know about these jobs and that the state can help them get the skills needed to obtain one." 
Major Opportunities is a 16-week pre-apprenticeship program in the construction trades geared toward Indiana's minority residents. Major Opportunities offers job and skill training to qualified persons to prepare them for construction industry jobs that pay good wages. Participants will receive classroom instruction and will be matched for on-the-job training experience. Graduates of the program will receive job placement assistance in union and/or merit construction apprenticeship programs as well as other career paths. see press release
