Integrating Career Awareness (ICA) Online Course

DWD is offering four options for self-paced, online courses developed by subject matter experts and leaders in the adult education field with LINCS, the professional development arm of the Office for Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) under USDOE.

The ICA Online Course helps Adult Education professionals provide adult learners with strategies and resources for setting career goals and for securing the educational services they need to pursue their personal and employment goals. The course will prepare instructors, administers, and counselors to implement the Integrating Career Awareness into the ABE & ESOL Classroom (ICA) Curriculum Guide within the

The self-paced will require approximately 10 hours of work over a 6 week time period. The course will run from April 25 to June 3, 2016.

Any Indiana Adult Education professional working with adult students or clients may apply. Registration is limited to just 20 participants. Before applying, please read through the course informational handout.

Individuals completing 80% or more of required activities will receive a professional growth points (PGP) certificate and will be eligible to count their course participation for their DWD PD attendance requirement.

LINCS Online Courses: Spring 2016

DWD is offering four options for self-paced, online courses developed by subject matter experts and leaders in the adult education field with LINCS, the professional development arm of the Office for Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) under USDOE.

Each course will be delivered completely online, and all coursework is self-paced, allowing practitioners to complete coursework according to their own schedules. Each 10-week course will run from April 4 through June 10, 2016.

Courses will require 10 hours of reading/watching, implementation activities, and discussion posts. Individuals completing 80% or more of required activities will receive a professional growth points (PGP) certificate and will be eligible to count their course participation for their DWD PD attendance requirement.
