HIP services are for homeless veterans and their families:

  1. veterans living on the street, in a mission or shelter, or in a transitional housing program;
  2. veterans who are being evicted by a private landlord or from a doubled up situation with no income or very low income and no other housing identified.


Walk-in Services: Triage services to address basic needs and access HIP programs and services for homeless veterans are available on a walk-in basis on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 am.

HIP Housing programs for homeless veterans and their families include VA Per Diem Transitional Housing, VA Per Diem Transition-in-Place to Permanent Housing (TIP), and the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF).  All of these programs include limited rent and utility assistance as well as housing services and case management support.

Employment Services for homeless veterans are available through the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) at HIP and include opportunities for job skills training as well as job placement and support services.  An Employment Assessment is conducted on a walk-in basis each Monday at 9 a.m. and Thursday at 1 p.m. for employment-focused veterans.
