DOR and the Indiana CPA Society Partner to Help Hoosier Businesses

June 11, 2015

Do you have a business idea you’re just dying to bring to life? Are you interested in learning more about the benefits of entrepreneurship? Would you like to turn your hobby into a full-time business?

If so, the Hoosier state is the place for you! Your business will fit in perfectly with the more than 250,000 thriving Indiana businesses.

Of course, the process of opening a new or small business can sometimes be overwhelming, stressful, and downright confusing. While most business owners have a passion for their industry, most don’t have that same passion for taxes. When Indiana businesses run into tax trouble, it is often due to not understanding Indiana tax laws and requirements.

That’s where the Indiana Department of Revenue and the Indiana CPA Society come in. Again this year, we’re teaming up to host a series of presentations in cities across Indiana, including Evansville, Columbus, Terre Haute, South Bend, and Muncie.

The presentation, Start Strong: Indiana Business Taxes for New and Small Businesses, is a free business tax presentation designed to address pertinent tax information for new and small businesses. Attendees also will have an opportunity to ask questions of an experienced department representative, network with other small business owners, and enjoy a complimentary breakfast.

If that’s not incentive enough, the Evansville and Columbus seminars fall during Igniting Indiana Entrepreneurship Week, a week dedicated to promoting, celebrating, and educating Hoosiers about small business and entrepreneurship.
