How can I get assistance from the Indiana Department of Revenue?

March 30, 2015

For many Hoosiers, the mere thought of taxes can be stressful and unnerving. Fortunately, there are numerous ways to get in touch with an Indiana Department of Revenue representative. Whether you prefer to communicate over the phone or online, department representatives are ready to assist you.

Phone

The department offers English and Spanish phone support Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For individual income tax assistance, call the department at 317-232-2240.

Email

If you have a question about your individual income tax return, you can send an email to individualtaxassistance@dor.in.gov. If you have a question specific to Indiana freefile, please email freefile@dor.in.gov. If you send an email in Spanish, we’ll make sure your message is forwarded to a bilingual representative.

Social Media

The department is active on Facebook and Twitter. If you need assistance, feel free to send a message, and we’ll help you work through your issue. Remember, never share personal information, such as your Social Security number, on social media.

Website
