Mississinewa 1812 is Oct. 11-13

The largest War of 1812 living history event in the United States, sponsored by the Mississinewa Battlefield Society, Mississinewa 1812 is a historical commemoration of the Battle of Mississinewa fought there on Dec. 17-18, 1812.

This year's event is Oct. 11-13, and features military encampments, an Indian Village, Rivertown and a wilderness area.

Reenactments of battle scenes and camp life for traders, Native Americans, soldiers and hunters are augmented by music and song performances, including Kirkmount; Brad Kepler; Rick and Hillary Wagner; Liza and Mark Woolever; Thistle and Heather Bag Pipe Band; Father, Son and Friend; Dennis and Barbara Duffy; Wendy and Nathan Vanderpool and the Territorial Loud School.
