Versailles State Park in southeastern Indiana opened nearly 10 miles of newly constructed mountain bike trails this spring.
Funding for trail construction was provided by the DNR’s Division of State Parks and Reservoirs and by the Hoosier Mountain Bike Association. More than 75 volunteers contributed more than 2,000 hours to construct the trails. HMBA will monitor and maintain the mountain bike trails.
Mountain bike trails, varying in length from 5 miles to 15 miles, are currently available at several DNR properties, including Brown County State Park, Roush Lake, Clark State Forest/Deam Lake, Ferdinand State Forest, Jackson-Washington State Forest/Starve Hollow Beach SRA, Martin State Forest and Owen-Putnam State Forest.
