Caution: If you use the North Gate Entrance, you must go through a covered bridge with a headroom clearance of only nine feet. Tall vehicles or cars with bikes on top may not make it through. If your vehicle will not clear you will have to use the West Gate Entrance located west of Nashville on Highway 46.

Saturday, June 1. National Trails Day: 1pm. Celebrate National Trails day by creating a memorable walking stick. Pre-registration recommended. $5/project fee.
Saturday, June 15. 8th Annual Arts in the Parks. Arts Fair and Live Music Stage : Craft Vendors will be on-site with live music filling the air.

Nature Center/Park Events

Events at both Turkey Run and Shades
Saturday, June 1. (Shades and Turkey Run) - National Trails Day and Bird Fest. Help clean up the trails or eradicate non-native plants, plus enjoy naturalist-led hikes and a scavenger hunt. Morn bird hike w/a pro, bluebird house workshop, live birds of prey, bird crafts and more. $12/bluebird house, otherwise free.
June 29th - Shades State Park. Shades 2nd Annual Chautaugua. Turn of the century music, magic and programs, including a Miami Nation drum circle, under the tent all day!
July 20th. Turkey Run. Pioneer Heritage Festival. $1 per person. All hands-on; candle making, piioneer games and toys, corn husk dolls, cross cut sawing.
