Smokey Safety Day - MC AXE and the Fire Crew

August 2, 2008: Come celebrate Smokey the Bear's Birthday with us! Join Nature Center staff and fire professionals for displays and talks to learn about fire safety in the home, and how fire can be used wisely by the DNR; DNR wildland fire fighting demonstration also. There will be games, prizes, birthday cake, coloring contest and Smokey Bear will appear throughout the day. In the evening watch firefighters, MC Axe and the Fire Crew, perform their songs and skits at the Nature Center Amphitheater (outside). Fun for all! Please call 812-988-5240 for more information.

Abe Martin's County Picnic

September 13, 2008: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, West Main and Jefferson Street, Downtown Nashville. Everyone's invited to our community picnic! There will be a hog roast, live music, children's games, story-telling, outhouse races, and more! Bring your lawn chair. Proceeds to raise money for food & shelter needs in Brown County.
