On September 23, the WEAR IT INDIANA campaign had its Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Marine $1,000 shopping spree drawing.
Indiana Department of Natural Resources Director Robert E. Carter Jr. drew Spencer Paton’s name from nearly 3,000 pledge cards signed by boaters over the 2009 boating season at WEAR IT INDIANA campaign venue sites statewide.
Spencer, 8, a Cub Scout from Greenwood Indiana, signed a pledge card at the Indiana State Fair stating he would wear his life jacket when boating.
Spencer said he had been saving his money over the summer to purchase new camping equipment for Boy Scouts camping activities. With his win, Spencer will be able to fulfill his every wish at Bass Pro Shops. He also said that he always wears his life jacket when he’s fishing from a boat with his grandfather.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources wishes to thank Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Marine for their strong corporate sponsorship of the WEAR IT INDIANA campaign during the 2009 boating season.
“Come on Indiana… WEAR IT…!”
