The Interagency Technical Task Force on E. coli went through a brainstorming exercise to create a list of potential sources of bacterial contamination. Without evidence a definitive source or sources of the contamination exist, the list gives researchers a starting point for possible interactions and events which might lead to increased levels of E. coli. See minutes from November 15, 1996 meeting.
After listing potential sources, the Technical Task Force brainstormed on possible actions that might be taken to further define a source or eliminate the source. These possible actions might then begin to form the basis for recommendations to address this issue along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Indiana. See minutes from February 18, 1997 meeting.
