What's Going On In Forestry 

  • NOTICE: Hiking and horse trails at Deam Lake State Recreation Area and Clark State Forest that were in the path of the March 2, 2012 tornados that devastated much of the state from Pekin to Henryville are closed at this time.  Further updates will be posted as they become available.
  • Adventure Hiking Trail Closures: 
    Trail restrictions on the Adventure Hiking Trail have ended and the entire trail is now open.
  • NOTICE: Jackson-Washington State Forest Museum Shelterhouse will not be available for use beginning September 3rd due to scheduled renovations.  We plan to have the shelter re-opened by the 4th of July.
  • The annual open house for Ferdinand and Pike State Forests will be held in the newly remodeled Ferdinand office building on Friday, October 4, 2013 from 3-7PM EDT. Everyone is invited to come out and see the future planned timber sales as well as other operational and recreational projects.  Ferdinand State Forest office is located at 6583 East State Road 264, Ferdinand, IN 47532.  For more information, call (812) 367-1524.
