Common Name: Coyote

Scientific Name: Canis latrans
Diet: Mainly small mammals including mice, rabbits, poultry, livestock, wild fruit, songbirds and sometimes game birds.
General Characteristics: Resembles a German shepherd, but carries it's tail below the level of its back instead of curved upward. Average weight is 30 lbs, although males are heavier.
Fun Fact: Coyotes are excellent "mousers."
