Common Name: Box Turtle

Scientific Name: Terrapene carolina
Diet: A box turtle's diet often changes and may include fruits, berries, worms, slugs, insects, mushrooms and carrion.
Habitat: Forests, although they may occasionally be found wandering in grasslands and wet situations.
Status: Protected. Box turtles MAY NOT be collected from the wild.
Fun Fact: Box turtles are long-living creatures. Many have been documented living 60 years. Some may reach over 100 years old.
