John Mallers

JOHN MALLERS brings twenty years of tax and local government experience to his role as Budget Division Director for the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance. He and his staff are responsible for certifying tax rates, budgets, and levies for all taxing units in the state, as well as enforcing statutory compliance with Indiana law. The Budget Division also provides training and participates in both budget and appeals hearings throughout the state.

Prior to joining the Department, Mr. Mallers served as a Senior Consultant for Maximus, Inc., providing financial consulting to local governments. He was also a Fiscal Analyst for the Indiana House of Representatives and worked as a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A) with firms such as Deloitte & Touche LLP, R. J. Pile & Co., LLC, and Blue & Co., LLC.

Mr. Mallers holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Indiana University School of Business and a Masters of Science in Taxation from the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana C.P.A Society.

Mr. Mallers currently lives in Fishers, Indiana with his wife Elizabeth.
