Forward Response Team

Forward Response Team

The mission of the Forward Response Team is dictated by the operational needs of the state and affected jurisdiction.  The team creates a pool for consolidating response efforts and information by utilizing expertise that already exists while forming a unified structure to be used by the Director for command and control.

The Forward Response Team serves as a focal point for gathering information on hazard impact, effects of loss and the identification of immediate needs required for a detailed situation assessment.

In addition, the team provides assistance to the affected community by identifying resource shortfalls, establishing outside resource acquisition channels and providing assistance in areas such as hazardous materials, detailed damage assessment, special needs and other coordination.

The team provides one point of contact (POC) for local officials in need of help or information and provides one POC for the State Emergency Operations Center for situation reports and support requests, reducing the number of fragmented reports and duplication of resources.
