As of January 1, 2009, processing of Foster Care Assistance Payments is made through the State instead of the local County Auditors office as a result of the 2008 property tax relief bill HEA 1001. Multiple notices of this transition were mailed to Foster Parents beginning in June 2008.
Payments to foster parents for services provided are made in arrears. To receive payment, foster parents are required by the State to submit invoices every month. All foster parents were offered training sessions which explained all the changes, and included the referral forms, the payment timeline, and the invoice process.
Foster parents can expect to receive payment within 7-14 days after invoices are received
• 1,746 Foster Parents received payments in February for January Services
• 1,888 Foster Parents received payments in March for February Services
