Searching Funding Announcements

Once you have logged on, you are transferred to the Main Menu page, which "welcomes you to ICJI Egrants." By selecting the Funding Announcement tab or the 'CLICK HERE' hyperlink, you are transferred to the Funding Announcement Search page, which will allow you to locate, view, and, if appropriate, submit Concept Papers/Applications for funding from available, open Funding Announcements.

Remember: You or your agency will not be able to create and submit a response to a Funding Announcement or application unless these three security roles are established: Program Creator, Financial Creator and Submission.

It is important not to create multiple responses to the same Funding Announcement. If you begin a response to a Funding Announcement, Egrants will automatically assign a Grant ID number to your response. It is important to write that number down.

If you need to close out of Egrants and come back in at a later date, you will select the Project Management tab rather than the Funding Announcement tab and you will need to enter the previously provided Grant ID number to pull up your work that is saved to date. If you attempt to go back in via the Funding Announcement tab, you will create a multiple response.

Please note: You cannot create an application after the noted close date on the Funding Announcement. Also, if you began an application before the close date, the Egrants system will allow you continue to work on the application after the close date. However, you will not be able to submit the application to ICJI.

Grant Status

You can check the status of your grant at any time by reviewing the status box on your grant, which may be located at various places depending on the page you are accessing. Please become familiar with the following Grant Status codes:

  • Open - Received: Submitted Application has been received by ICJI.
  • Open - Under Review: ICJI is currently reviewing the Application.
  • Open - Ready for Board: ICJI has completed their review of the Application and is prepared to present the Application to the Board of Trustees.
  • Open - Awarded: Application is Approved/Awarded.
  • Open - Questions: ICJI has questions about the grant.
  • Open - Returned: Changes are required and ICJI has returned the Application to the agency.

Processing a Returned Application

If an application is sent back to you, you will be notified in "Work Manager" under "Tasks" and "Alerts" with a description of "Returned." The application is sent back to you in its entirety, but you will only need to address the sections that have issues/comments or are marked "Returned."

When you click on the hyperlink of the task concerning the "Returned Application," you will be taken to an Issues/Comments page. This will provide you with an explanation from ICJI staff as to why the section(s) was (were) returned.

There is also an "Add New Response" button you can click if you would like to respond in return.

To make changes to the Application from the "Application Summary" screen, select the section(s) that are marked as "Returned" under the "Status column." Update the "Section(s)" and "Save" the corrections. Please make sure you change the application as requested.
