Indiana's statewide "Click It or Ticket" seat belt mobilization will take place from May 19 - June 1, specifically targeting travel during the Memorial Day holiday. With an emphasis this year on convincing more motorists to buckle up day and night, law enforcement officers will be on the look out for unrestrained motorists around the clock. Through high-visibility enforcement efforts, all drivers and passengers in the Hoosier state will be reminded to buckle up every trip, every time or face a fine.

Govenor Daniels signs legislation requiring all Indiana motorists in all vehicles to buckle up.
The most successful seat belt enforcement campaign ever, "Click It or Ticket" has helped to create the highest national seat belt usage rate in history, current at 82 percent. In 2007, Indiana's overall observed seat belt usage rate surged from a low 62.1 to a high 88.4 percent, evidence that heightened awareness combined with sustained law enforcement efforts are helping save the lives of Hoosier motorists.
