Communications Division Director

Mica Perry is a native of Ohio. She grew up in Columbus where she attended Ft. Hayes Arts and Academic High School and finished out her Junior and Senior years at Northland Senior High School from where she graduated in 1992. After attending Grambling State University, Mica later moved to Indianapolis and graduated from Indiana University (Indianapolis), with a BA in Communication Studies.

While completing her degree, Mica began to develop her professional portfolio and gained a combination of experience in customer service, operations management, (outside) sales and advertising. During this time, Mica was recognized by her then employers for exceptional achievement and was further awarded for her abilities to develop and build productive business and community relationships.

Mica joined the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) in June of 2005, as the Marketing and Communications Manager where she primarily worked to promote the campaigns and initiatives of ICJI’s Traffic Safety division. Mica was recently promoted to serve as ICJI’s Communications Director. In this role, Mica’s first priority is to support the programs, campaigns and initiatives of each division within the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute; with an emphasis on promoting the contributions that ICJI is making to achieve justice in order to ensure that Indiana a safe place to live.

Mica and her team are also responsible for placing statewide media buys on behalf of ICJI’s Traffic Safety division and for preparing internal and external communications on behalf of ICJI’s public relations efforts.

Mica has been an active volunteer in various community and social-service organizations, such as the “Saving Our Youth” Foundation and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). Mica’s hobbies include traveling and spending time with her family.
