A person that owns a vehicle may apply to the bureau for a 96-hour temporary delivery permit to operate the vehicle without obtaining a certificate of title or registration.
A 96-hour temporary delivery permit is valid for a period of 96 hours beginning with the time of issuance and authorizes the person or the person’s agent or employee to operate the vehicle upon a highway for the purposes of delivering or having delivered the vehicle to any of the following locations:
A 96-hour temporary delivery permit may also be issued for delivery of a vehicle that is currently impounded. Proof of impound is required.
Any Indiana resident who has provided financial responsibility information and proof of ownership may obtain a 96-hour temporary delivery permit by visiting any BMV branch and paying the appropriate fee. Proof of ownership may include any of the following:
