myBMV > Learner's Permits and Driver's Licenses > Renew Your Driver's License Now Renew Your Driver's License Now

You may be eligible to renew your driver's license online and avoid potential lines at your local BMV branch. Persons who are not United States citizens (legal temporary or permanent residents) may only renew their driver’s license in a branch and only 30 days prior to expiration date. Customers with a commercial driver’s license, chauffeur’s license or a public passenger chauffeur’s license must also visit a BMV branch to renew their driver’s license.

You can renew your license online if you meet the following conditions:

  • You are a citizen of the United States.
  • There is no change in your name, residential address or other information.
  • Your driver’s license is not expired more than 180 days.
  • You are not required to take an exam.
  • You are within 12 months of your renewal date.
